As part of the “Sleep – A Third of our Life” initiative, tenth-grade students at Revivim School in Rishon LeZion filled out sleep diaries to help document their sleep habits. They completed the diary each morning, recording when they got into bed, when they decided to try to fall asleep, what they did before falling asleep, how long it took them to fall asleep, how many times they woke up during the night, and other relevant information about their sleep. The students met with researcher Prof. Tamar Shochat and heard her speak in a synchronous lecture about the biological clock. The lessons took place as part of their biology classes during remote learning. In the lecture, students also received feedback on their actual sleep patterns through an analysis of the sleep diaries they had filled out during the Covid period, and they were introduced to advice for sleeping better.
